Plastic pollution

I will appreciate the corrections to the  text. Please send me yours. Thank you.
Every day we are using more and more plastic in our daily life. Every single item we buy, no matter how small, is wrapped in it. We are living in a world where it´s impossible not to use plastic made products, many of them single-use disposable for.  In fact, in domestic uses are more than 60% of total waste. Really, does it represent a health problem?

To start with, it's known that some chemical components that take part in the composition of plastics are entering our body. How is it possible? Recent researches have shown that more than 6.5 tons of plastic reach the seas every year. Fish eat what they find in the seas, including garbage. Once the plastic particles have entered the food chain, is just a matter of time before reaching our stomachs.

The PNUMA (United Nations Program for the Environment) has alerted us about it, many chemicals which are included in the composition of plastics (like "bisphenol A", an usual additive), are "endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs)", substances which can alter the hormonal system and are related with effects on early development of persons, and also with some diseases who are often irreversible and may not become evident until later in life. 90% of newborn children and most of adults are contaminated with EDCs and other toxins present in plastic.

In addition to this, the plastic pollution is all over the world. Researches have found in oceans more tiny plastic fragments that plankton, and 100 % of the world's beaches are polluted with microplastics. There is no place in the world free of plastics. Believe it or not, there is a large artificial island made up of plastic waste floating in the Pacific Ocean, with the size of the United States !

In conclusion,we have a problem (another problem) that we should be aware. We must be concious to avoid the use of plastic, specially single-use bags. We must not throw out to the trash this material that on one hand lasts hundreds of years and on the other, is related with some illnesses, both in human and in any other kind of life.

Take this tips from the web "Plastic Pollution Coallition"

Refuse
Say NO to all disposable plastics!

Reduce
Reduce your plastic footprint. Consider the lifecycle of every plastic product you purchase. Choose products with the least packaging, look for products and packaging made from renewable resources, avoid plastic packaging and containers. Choose products that have the least amount of disposable parts. Choose glass and stainless steel over plastic.

Reuse
Reuse glass and stainless steel, containers and goods.

Recycle
Recycle what you can’t refuse, reduce or reuse. Recycling plastic items is a last option, as in many cases your plastic recycling is shipped overseas, or ends up in the landfill.

Speak Out
Now that you are making a change in your life, send a message to government, business, and organizations asking them to join the Global Call to End Plastic Pollution, a pledge for institutions to help stop plastic pollution at its source.

  2. Very brave attempt!

Remember: it´s impossible not using --> it's impossible not to use

Also think about the questions' structure:
it represent a health problem? --> does it represent a health problem?
How it is possible? --> how is it possible?

Good try! Remember practice makes perfect! ;)
